Standard
Kadina Medical Associates will bulk bill for standard appointments only if a current Medicare & Concession card is shown at the time of consultation. If you do not have a concession card or do not present your concession card at the time of consultation full payment of the account is expected.

Once payment has been made, we can either send your claim electronically or via registered post to Medicare and you can choose for Medicare to send you a cheque in the mail or for the rebate to deposited directly into your bank account. To register your bank account details with Medicare please ring 132 011 or visit www.medicareaustralia.gov.au.

After Hours

We do not bulk bill for afterhours consultations.

For all after hour’s visits, a "gap payment" is expected at the time of consultation. This gap is $50.00 for non concession patients or $30.00 for concession card holders. We will process the medicare application form on your behalf which will result in a medicare cheque being sent to your registered medicare address. You will need to forward this cheque to us to complete your payment.

Antenatal
We do not routinely bulk bill for any standard pregnancy related visits.

We do however offer discounts for concession card holders, an antenatal consult is $71.00 and for non-concession card holders is $76.00. A ten dollar discount is offered if you pay for teh account in full at the time of consultation. If you are having trouble with payments please speak with your Doctor.

We now offer a new antenatal service where certified midwives from the Wallaroo Hospital work in conjunction with our GP obstetricians to provide your antenatal care. This service is provided at no cost to the you and will be bulk billed. Please discuss your eligibility for this service at your next antenatal visit.

If you are having your baby at Wallaro Hospital and have private health insurance, we offer a "NO GAP" billing process. As long as you are fully covered by your health fund for antenatal services, we will only charge your funds recommended fee. This means there will be no extra out of pocked expenses billed to you by our Doctors. (Unless you have a voluntary gap arrangment with your health fund)

Please be aware that other expenses may be incurred during your pregnancy such as Obstetric Ultrasound’s and Antenatal CTG's.

Medicals
All medicals are private accounts and unless an arrangement has been made previously with your employer, full payment is required on the day. Please ask at time of booking what cost it may be. We are unable to bulk bill for medicals.

Cancellation
Please note that appointments not kept or appointments cancelled with less than 2 hours notice, except with good reason will be charged $50.00. This amount is not refundable from Medicare. Please call us if you are unable to attend an appointment as we can then allocate the appointment slot to another patient and reduce waiting times. If you cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend, we can offer this time slot to another patient there by reducing waiting times. Further details on this policy can be obtained from KMA Staff.

Workcover/third party accounts

Until a claim has been accepted by workcover, our practice will issue private accounts for any potential workcover treatments or consultations. As per current workcover directions, the onus of payment rests with the person who received the treatment until the claim has been accepted and proof of acceptance is presented to the clinic. We recommend that you keep copies of all accounts that you receive before sending them to your employer/third party.

Motor Vehicle Accidents

Until a claim has been accepted. Our practice will issue private accounts for any MVA consutations or treatments. The onus of payment rests with the person who received the treatment until the claim has been accepted and proof of acceptance is presented to the clinic

overdue accounts

Forgeting to pay accounts can happen to anyone, please ring us if you receive a statement or an account and you are unable to pay it immediately or wish to question the bill in any way.

We will allow payment over time with prior approval for patients having financial difficulties. Our practice does have a policy of debt recovery and legal action will be taken on overdue accounts. We do not want to ofend or upset patients with such actions, but we do require our patients to pay their accounts so we can pay ours. If you are having difficulties please drop in and see Steve at Kadina.
