Saturday Morning Emergency Clinic
In order to support the new Accident and Emergency department currently nearing completion at Wallaroo Hospital and to provide better emergency care to our own patients, Kadina Medical Associates would like to inform our patients that we are trialing the relocation of our Saturday Morning Emergency clinics to our Wallaroo Surgery from February 2010.
Our Doctors are required to be on call for Accident and Emergency, Obstetrics and Anaesthetics for Wallaroo Hospital as well as our own emergency Clinic. The relocation of our Saturday Morning emergency Clinic will allow our doctors to deal with any urgent or life threatening injuries that present at Wallaroo Hospital on Saturday mornings whilst still being able to provide services for our own patients.
Our doctors often have to leave patients at Kadina to respond to medical emergencies at Wallaroo hospital. Once at the hospital, they are unable to return to Kadina until the patient has been flown to Adelaide or taken to surgery which may take several hours. With the two services running within the same building, our on-call doctor will be able to return to see patients at our clinic as time permits to ensure any delay is kept to a minimum.
It is hoped that this move will reduce the stress on our local health system whilst maintaining our levels of care.
Flu Precautions
If you have any symptoms such as fever, headache, rash, sore throat, cough, runny nose, diarrhoea or vomiting please phone us before attending and then you will be isolated on your arrival to the clinic. You may need to wear a mask while in the clinic.
To stop the spread of germs, please cover your cough and sneeze with your upper sleeve or a tissue to be placed in the bin and clean your hands afterwards with soap and water or alcohol based hand gel.
